Our Story

Access Control Specialist started as a locksmith and security company. After a couple of years we discovered that there was a name for combining the best parts of those two things,  access control.

It all started when we installed some strikes for Deibold Corp. at Virginia Tech. After we did some trouble shooting on their electronics, when our strikes didn’t fire, They asked us to start doing the entire installation!

We worked up to turnkey installations and when they sold the company to CBord, we became contract installers for many of the colleges and universities in the mid-Atlantic region. We travel in Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland and have  handled projects of up to 205 doors.

We can travel for projects where allow by regulation of the local authorities.

We can work with most Access Control Systems as they are all similar.

Our main Brands are the following:

We are a security integrator specializing in access control. We are located in Riner, Virginia near Blacksburg and are licensed in Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia.

We excel doing projects retrofitting or doing new construction.. For the customer, it means that we will work on your project per our agreed schedule. We will make our best effort not to deviate from our projected completion time or go to other service calls while we working on your project.

Our staff is trained in the systems we install. Since we do access control every day, we are up to speed on the nuances of the installation. Access control is complicated and can be a challenge if it’s not your primary product. We can pull the wire, install the access hardware and locks as well as assist you IT personnel with the networking to bring the system online.

If needed we will integrate CCTV and Security Systems into the access system. Man traps and air locks are in our bag of security tricks as well.
